Hi! My name is Roberta Mota and I am a computer scientist enthusiastic about developing software that allows people to visualize, analyze, and make data-driven decisions. My projects commonly include interactive data visualizations.
I am currently a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Calgary, Canada, where I am a Killam Scholar. I am also a researcher/software engineer at the Visagg and iLab research groups. Prior to starting my Ph.D. program, I was a research software engineer at the Reservoir Simulation R&D Group and my everyday activities were motivated by finding innovative solutions through mixed reality for reservoir modelling and analysis within the oil and gas industry.
I hold an M.Sc. in Computer Science, completed at the University of Calgary (2017, GPA: 4.0/Scale 0-4.0); my thesis was featured on UCalgary's Student Spotlight. I also hold a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the Federal University of Pernambuco, Brazil, where I obtained the highest GPA of the class of 2014 (9.69/Scale 0-10).
